London-based not for profit arts organisation Sluice__ is auctioning a fantastic catalogue of works on Paddle8 as part of its biennial fundraiser. The auction will help support Sluice__ into the future so that it can continue its mission to strategically adopt structures in order to showcase artist, curator and emergent discourse, projects and galleries.Sluice__ was formed in 2011 “as a provocation and foregrounds criticality as a central concern” and is run by an artist, a curator, and an educationalist – Karl England, Charlie Levine, and Ben Street respectively. One of the organisation’s most high profile events is the Sluice__ art fair which is scheduled to return to London in October 2015.According to Karl England, writing on the Sluice__ blog, “Sluice is called Sluice__ because our intention is to funnel a particular stream of cultural production. Value judgements are involved but primarily Sluice__ defines a series of parameters that describe a certain ethos, projects that fit those parameters are then eligible to participate.”The artists who have donated work so the fundraiser are:Marco Chiandetti, Ami Clarke, Paul Cole, Gemma Cossey, Alli Sharma, Corinna Spencer, Diana Taylor, Kirsty Tinkler, Rachel Wilberforce, Elly Clarke, Bharti Parmar, Anna Freeman Bentley, Keran James, Gordon Shrigley, Nicolas Pace, Katherine Di Turi, Piers Veness, David Dipré, Annabel Dover, Karl England, Ted Haddon, Natasha Kahn, Cathy Lomax, Whitney McVeigh, Eleanor Morgan, Steve Nelson, Kim L Pace, Ryan Riddington, Brian Sayers, Caroline Walker, Jo Gane, Daniel Salisbury, Charley Peters, Lesley Guy, Dominic From Luton, Ben Coode-Adams, and Mimei Thompson. The Paddle8 Sluice Benefit auction ends on January 29, 2015.
