Ketterer to Showcase the Zero Group in Berlin and Dusseldorf

German galleries and institutions are celebrating the work of art collective Zero with a series of exhibitions and events this year, most prominently the major retrospective “Zero: Countdown to Tomorrow, 1950s–60s” which is scheduled to open at Berlin’s Martin-Gropius-Bau on March 20th.In its upcoming sale of post-war and contemporary art in Munich on June 11/12, Auction house Ketterer Kunst will be offering a selection of works by Zero related artists which are partially presented beforehand in an exhibition in Berlin and Dusseldorf.Opening on March 22 in Berlin, the exhibition titled “Zero” features circa fifty works by the movement’s founders Heinz Mack, Otto Piene, and Günther Uecker as well as a good dozen artists that were associated with the group, such as Bernard Aubertin, Enrico Castellani, Lucio Fontana, Gotthard Graubner, Oskar Holweck, and Herbert Zangs, among others.On April 15 the show is scheduled to open at Ketterer Kunst in Dusseldorf, the city where the Zero project was originally launched in the late 1950s. “Zero,” March 22 – April 11 at Ketterer Kunst Berlin Charlottenburg and April 15 -24 at Ketterer Kunst Dusseldorf; click here for more info on the exhibition and to view the catalog.
