Sotheby’s inaugurates the 2017 auction season with Americana Week in New York, but in Hong Kong, it’s first auction in the new year is dedicated to contemporary art. Titled “Boundless: Contemporary Art,” the sale presents works ranging from Western and Asian modern and contemporary art to celebrated design pieces by the likes of Guy de Rougement, Edward Weston, Ai Weiwei and Herzog & De Meuron, and Claude Lalanne to name a few. The sale will also offer a selection of Western and Asian photographs and rare artist-designed jewelleries. French designer de Rougemont is being introduced at auction in Asia for the first time through this sale.
