Auction house Bonhams is showcasing highlights from its upcoming London sales at its Hong Kong HQ from January 11-15. The exhibition includes major works by Andy Warhol, Kazuo Shiraga, Alfred Sisley, and Georges Willaume.Bonhams Director of Fine Arts Asia, Magnus Renfrew said, “It's a great pleasure to welcome this wonderful selection of master works from forthcoming London sales to Hong Kong showing the breadth of Bonhams international reach.”On show from the Bonhams Contemporary and Modern art sale in London on February 11 will be Andy Warhol’s “Fourteen Small Electric Chairs,” which has an estimate of £4,000,000-6,000,000, and Kazuo Shiraga’s “Untitled (Red Fan),” which carries an estimate of £1,500,000-2,000,000.“Fourteen Small Electric Chairs,” which according to Bonhams represents the best from the two most celebrated series of Warhol’s entire output, displays evidence of the impasto being manipulated by hand and even has a finger swipe in one area of the work that could be from Warhol’s own hand.Representing the Bonhams 19th Century European, Victorian and British Impressionism sale in London on March 2 will be “Un Theater à Pao Ting Fu” by Georges Willaume, carrying an estimate of £40,000-60,000, and “Interior of Ma Tso Kok Temple, Macau” by a follower of Auguste Borget, carrying an estimate of £40,000-60,000.Auguste Rodin’s “L’Eternel Printemps,” one of the French sculptor’s most highly acclaimed works, and Alfred Sisley’s “Le Petit Bougival,” which has not been seen in public for more than 100 years, are two of the highlights that will be on show from the Bonhams Impressionist and Modern Art sale in London on February 4. The works carry estimates of £500,000-700,000 and £300,000-500,000 respectively.The exhibition will be open to the public daily from 9am-5pm at Suite 2001, One Pacific Place, 88 Queensway, Admiralty.
